does spacing 4" 703 pannels 4" from the wall extend the LF absorption at all? according to corning's Numbers it doesn't. However, it would make sense if 1" and 2" is helped from spacing, I would think others would benefit too. Anyone? I read Ethan's post on density, but it doesn't seem to adress this question.
Charlie, > does spacing 4" 703 pannels 4" from the wall extend the LF absorption at all? < Yes! It extends the absorption to about an octave lower. For a more detailed explanation see the section Optimizing the Air Gap in my Acoustics FAQ: www.ethanwiner.com/acoustics.html --Ethan
thanks Ethan. Too bad Corning's tests aren't acurate down there.
Oh, BTW is there any data on the effects of absorbtive material on the wall surface as well putting 703 spaced from that wall? -Happy Turkey Day!

This list has every absorption test result (and probably several more) known to be on the internet. The list has links to manufacturer's websites, product data sheets where available etc. Enjoy! Andre
