Hi John, knightfly, and AaronW, Well I have been wanting to do this for some time now. Property: Tabor City, North Carolina USA Aprox. 500 foot to the closest house. Aprox. 475 feet from road. No heavy traffic. Building: No building yet. I have thoughts of a 40'w x 60' x 12'h building. The height can be varied of need to. I would have approx 20' x 40' garage/workshop and 40' x 40' to to put a 3 or 4 room studio in. 1 Control/Mix 1 Drum 1 Vocal 1 Large room Steel Building? Is a steel building a good idea? I don't think I have to worry about disturbing the neighbors as I am 500' from their house. I do want isolation between the booths. I understand the msm theory and the inefficiency of three leafs that are inherent with steel buildings. Float the concrete floors for each room or neopreme floating rooms ?? Which is more efficient?? Exactly how do you floot a concrete floor? Angled or parallel walls?? Does one use a good proven ratio with parallel walls and acoustically treat it for it's mode problems according to the mathimatical model of the room ?? Budget: 80 k USD Most of the work will be done by me. Music: I except all genres but it will be mostly Bluegrass and Country. I am just starting the design process and expect it to take a while. Any ideas would be welcome. Thanks
Hi all, Pardon my skill using Skechup. It is the free version and I am low on the learning curve. This is my first rough draft. It is a 3 room version of my vision. Thanks Bordley
