OK...what do I do with THIS? lol

We are in process of buying a new home. I am hoping to get a project studio up and running in it asap (within a year?). I am attaching an outline of the basement. The yellow area is basically mine to do what I see fit. (Walls are reference only. There are no current interior walls) My hope is to have a Control Room, Live room and Iso booth. Ceilings are currently around 7'5" and the basement is completely unfinished as of now. The walls are cinderblock. My goal would be to stay as reasonable as possible (definitely under $10,000, hopefully under $5000) and to have a live room that can be used for practice, as well as recording. As far as how loud I would be, neighbors would be a concern. There are 2 windows to the outside world. I'm not concerned with completely blocking out sound, but minimizing it to where it would not be loud outside. The two blue spots are existing support pillars. They are wooden 4x4. Incedentally, except for the toilet and stairs, the whole basement is a blank slate. The 'center sqare' is allowance room for the hot water heater, furnace, and brick support. This seemed to me to be the best option without stealing the entire basement (wife won't go for that!), but if you see other rooms that may work better shape wise, I'm wide open. Sorry if I missed anything. I did the 'read this first' and 'think' I covered it all!

Wow I knew I could count on you for something I would have never thought of! Thanks, John! Only question at this point is trying to enter the studio. Would it be feasible to have an entry door built into the big room, or would that mess it all up? Thinking big room for load in/load out of equipment. Thanks again!

yes - well you didn't show any doors, only what looked like two windows on the wast wall.

so where are the doors - as the plan is now there aren't any.

I'm hoping to just equip the room with a teleporter :D I actually have no clue where to put the doors. Gotta be able to load gear in, and have to be able to access the CR. I may be able to get the wife to allow me to use that room connecting to the Iso for entry to CR Not sure about the Main Studio. Where would you put it?

Not an option. It's a basement, so they're just small windows up high on the walls. :(

well it's up to you but it looks like you are going to have to knock out a door somewhere.
