Like I had mentioned in a previous post I am achieving
no more than a 4db variance in my mixing position.
Is that "good" , "fair", "poor" ?
I don't really know exactly what I am supposed to be trying to achieve.
I want my mixes to translate well to CD and I want accurate
representation of what I am doing.
Can anyone share their mixing position freq responses and
offer some guidence here?
THank You,
b
PS. Sorry for so many posts it's just that I have been struggling with these questions for some time and it is nice to finally find a forum that can address them. Thank you very much by the way to John and who ever else keeps this forum alive. It is marvalous.

Mixing position freq response

4 dB seems really tight; how did you measure, exactly? Steve
I used my ears.
Just Kidding.
I used Smaart Live and measured it from the listening position.
4db is probably better than the quoted response of the speakers ;)

What can I say ...home made tube traps really work.
I am still trying to tame the freq response below 125hz though.
Above that the measurements I am getting with my
equipment do not vary more than -4 or +4 db.
So depending on how you look at it that would be a variance
of 8 db.
I don't know the variance specified for Mackie 824's.
Respectively,
