My home studio measures (H = 2.1717 m) x (W = 2.147 m) x (L= 6.3373 m). I'm looking for advice on nearfield monitor placement within the room to minimize problems in the low frequencies. Thanks for any help! -Andy Boyd in Seattle, USA
One common practice is to make your listening "sweet spot" 38% back from the front wall. Your speakers should probably fire lengthwise into the room, so that the sweet spot is 38% back, in your case 2.408174m. Have that sweet spot be one corner of an equilateral triangle, and place the speakers at the other edges pointing in. Use acoustic treatments to optimize this space, creating a reflection-free zone and broadband absorption in the corners, or build something like John's Wall Units.
