Be patient... John's ISP went out of business which hinders his ability to connect. It's also a weekend.
should i still be being patient, or is this a dead topic?
No mate - the reason you can't post the skp file is that it's probably too large.
Delete all the fancy stuff like the drums etc and then goto
Window/Model Info/Statistics and click Purge unused.
That will remove them totally from the file and reduce it's size down to below the 500k allowed. (save as a separate file)
Then we can look at it. ;)
cheers
john
i have two questions for all of you guys who are knowledgeable about room acoustics...thanks in advance!!! my producing/mixing room is 12' by 20' with a ceiling that slopes from 9' (front) to 11' (back)....the booth is 10' by 14' with 8' cieling
1. i am finishing up construction of my basement work area...i made about twelve 2 by 4 absorbing panels in 2, 4, and 6 inch widths of mineral wool and 703 that i plan to hang straddling the room corners and directly on some walls. initially, i wanted to use wood laminate over the concrete floor, but it wasnt level in some areas and i opted for carpet. I chose a really nice soft high pile carpet. i know it won't do anything beneficial for the room acoustics, and may suck out a majority of the high frequencies. This considered, should i cover the front of my panels (beneath the fabric, of course) with paper/plastic to direct my absorption to the lower frequencies?
2. as i mentioned, i'll be straddling the majority of the corners with the panels i made. i would like to use the majority of the 4 and 6 inch wide panels in the room where i plan to mix and make music. would my 2 inch panels be sufficient in my vocal room, or should i use a couple deep ones in there as well? in other words, is trapping of deep bass equally essential in a vocal booth?
