Hi,
This is my first post on this forum, but I`ve been lurking around for a while. Found lots of valuble information. Thanks you guys for keeping up this site!!!
I have had my little basement studio here in Norway for about 5 years. The control room is ok, but all this time I`ve been struggling with poor acoustic in my main recording/live/drum room. So now I finally took the step and I emptied the whole room, leaving only the concrete walls left. Thought I`d build it up from scratch.
My room is only 4,5m x 5m, with height 2,44m. I know thats too small to get a big drum sound, but thats what I`m stuck with so I better make the best of it. The room I had before were too dead, so I want more it more live sounding.
So do you have any good solutions/ideas how to make this a desent sounding room. Where do I put the walls, how much absorbent/hard wall structure, bass traps, diffusors, ceiling and stuff like that. I`ll be very greatful for inputs on these matters. I`ll do all the work myselves, and the budget is about 2-3000 us dollar for materials and stuff.
I attached a sketchup file of the room.
cheers
