Hay everyone... I am almost at the building stage of my studio and im trying to figure out my hvac situation.... I have Rod Gervais book how to build a studio like the pros and i saw an option in there about making an exchange room.... Now my question is.. Do I have to make an actual exchange room or can i just have the send and return ducts pulling and sending air to the rest of the open area in the basement. (outside of the studio). Also i was looking at portable air conditioners..Has anyone used one or no of one that works well? If any one can help i will appreciate it

Short on time and typing on a Treo... But do a search for "soleus" on this forum and you'll see lots of stuff from me on portable A/C. Long story short: don't use it for fresh air provisioning.

Kingdevine, you can use the rest of the basement without a problem - BUT - you will have to size the unit for the entire basement, otherwise you will never keep up inside of the room. With a small exchange room you can use a smaller unit. Sincerely, Rod
