Hi guys my name is Lerryns, I live in Caracas, Venezuela and I am new registered user. My office is on floor 12 and I have a great view of the city and I would like to improve my recording studio.
I would like to have a control room and would also like to have a room where I can record a drumset...
So I wondered if you guys could give me some ideas, here´s my sketchup plan and some pictures of the place.

Hola amigo, como estas?
Well I think we are gonna need the exact size of the space you are working with, draw up a plan and scan it also.
And how much you can spend on this project
Ceiling height?
Any problems with neighbours etc esp for recording drums....

Hello friends and thanks for your answer :D
The exact size of the space is the following one: 5.06 meters in length,
3.26 meters wide and 2.37 meters of heigh. I place a file .skp with the dimensions of the space.
I have a budget of about 3000$ but that is not problem to propose the design, I need the best ideas, soon I adapt to the budget.
neighbors? well... a recording studio (A) , a hallway (B) and another office (C).
Thank you very much by your aid and I wait for your commentaries

Greetings to all in this forum :D This it is a simple design in .jpg...
Now it places a window of greater size and I have a single table for the console In this way I have more space in the control Room.
It does not even have the acustics elements... I wait for your ideas ( of course the ideas of Mr. John Sayers are welcome 8)
I need some help with the acoustic ( bass trap, resonator, etc. ) where put this elements :?:
Thanks...

Greetings to all in this forum :D I am here again with my new ideas about the acoustic elements for my recording studio. Everything what you see of blue color are acoustic elements. Bass trap, Absorber or Resonator, all in the control room... even nothing for studio :?
Also I give you a .skp file with details of the walls and windows (constructions, insulations, etc)...
Hey!!! I wait for your comments, ideas, criticize and of course some words of the Master... Mr. John Sayers
Thanks again...

Hi friends!!! :D I buy a box with 64 panels like this:
http://www.acousticsfirst.com/cuttingwdg.htm
the model Cutting Wedge 2000 (CW2K) 1´x1´and I will use in the control room and the studio to eliminate the parallelism in both space. Also like bass trap in the cornes.
I accept suggestion with relation to the use of this material... 8)
Repeat, many visits but nobody respond I want to know yours opinions, its very important for me... of course I wait for commentaries of Mr. Sayer :)
I know that my proyect is not very interesting but all your ideas and suggestions are important

Dear John thanks for your wonderful design. the all idea is perfect But a I have problem with the sofa, if you see my design, i put the sofa behind me, and i leave a space for the transit of people, also I receive clients with more than two companion. How would you do to resolve this problem in your design?
Another question: I have a pair of Yamaha NS-10M. you recommend to embed these monitors?
now I am going to study the budget 8)
And in this pics wath angle is this :?:
Thanks in advance MR. John... your design change my mine about this space...
I realise that but hey - you've got a very small space there, anyway it's going to be a squeeze.
Here's another wild idea ;) I've done this before and it works. The low ceiling between doors acts as a bass trap. Those are NS10s to scale.
All the angles and measurements are to scale in the sketchup file. Use sketchup to gain all the info.
AND PLEASE!! export your pictures to 700px wide. It's an option in 2D export - USE IT!!!
cheers
john
Thank you very much Mr. John, this option is what it was looking for. At this moment my budget is not sufficient to construct the low ceiling :( ... but I can construct these two walls in the control room like a first step, following your design, and in the future adding the low ceiling and the rest of the work.
Now, how to construct these walls? they have 50mm of thickness. Are they of wood? can you give me some advice in order to construct those walls?
Sorry about my pict exported :? . I dont have options in 2D export. I have a free version of sketchup.
Thanks in advance Mr. John :D from Caracas, Venezuela...
Peace

A greeting for all!!! I want to be thankful to all in this forum and of course to Mr. Sayers. It is much what I have learned about this fascinating world.
The possibility of sharing knowledge is fabulous, and this forum is the proof of that. Now I wait the arrival of the money to begin the construction of the studio.
I present you the final design... he is not spectacular but it is I practice for my necessities.
I created a new thread in Studio Construction forum where the advances of the project were appraised.

I have a doubt with relation to the walls in the control room that you can respond in my new thread.
Thanks you very much...
