Hey all. First off, I just have to say that this forum is AMAZING. Thank you so much for your efforts here, I was ecstatic when I found this site. This is my first post and I'll try extra hard to comply to forum rules, but let me know if I'm doing anything wrong. So here's the scoop: I've recently purchased a house and want to convert most of the basement into a studio. The studio would primarily be used for recording rock and experimental music, as well as the tracking room doubling as rehearsal space for my bands. I would like to at least have a control room and one main live room, but if I can fit a iso booth in there somewhere, even better. The basement floor is concrete slab, and the walls are cinderblock (filled in, I think...). The ceiling is about 6 1/2 to 7 feet from floor to exposed ceiling beams (not alot of headroom, I know), and there is alot of pipe and ducting hanging down in certain areas. I've attached a rudimentary pic of the floorplan along with the corresponding sketchup file, and will try to add more detail as I can. The starting budget for this project is around 4000 USD, but I consider it an ongoing project and can add later as money comes in. I will post some design ideas as soon as I can, but please don't hesitate to offer suggestions in the meantime. Thanks in advance for your help. You people rock! -P

Wow! those designs look great. I especially like #1. Thanks John! I will post again soon, but have spotty internet access because I am in the process of moving. I'll try to respond with some specific questions when I'm actually in the space...
