Hi all, seems like a great resource. Thanks for the help in advance.
Well, this one seems tough. I just bought a condo and have converted one of the back rooms into an office / studio. The room is 12x14x9. Almost a cube. The room is actually fairly soundproof. The walls between condo units in my building are conrete and plaster block (yes they used to build them solid in the 1920's!) and the floor below me is thick concrete slab and damping material as well.
Thing is, it's primary use is an office (clients do occasionally visit) which is why the desk is positioned as it is. There's really no other way for me to put it. The doors and large window make any symmetrical treatments impossible. Most of the issues I'm having seem to be bass-centric, although truthfully the room is not nearly as bad as I thought it would be. i think my Dynaudio monitors help out, though :)
My personal thoughts were to put down a thick rug (I've already ordered a rug that will cover most of the floor except for 1' hardwood border), and take care of HF absorption with fiberboard panels on the left wall or ceiling. I was thinking of putting fiberboard/ insulation bass traps in the three corners. But... i am not an expert, and that's why I'm here!
Excuse my drawing, it's not to scale, but it should give a pretty good idea of what I'm dealing with.

Thanks!
Cube Room with plaster walls and lots of doors...

Sorry, forgot a few things...
Budget is under $500 (enough to buy some lumber, fabric, and lots of fiberboard).
I do not listen to my mixes too loud- I tend more towards the "quiet"- moderate end of mixing.
This room is rarely used for any tracking. Just composing and mixing.
ok, many many views and still no replies. Hopefully these will help.
skp file to follow....
And the sketchup file.
Anyone?
Is my budget too low? I've followed all forum rules and provided all the necessary info. Please let me know if there is anything else I can provide or if there is a reason why no-one has answered my post.
Thank you
Well, I'm sorry no one has replied. I need to get this taken care of and since it's been over 2 weeks, I doubt anyone wants to help out. Thanks anyway.
PCM - we are prepared to help - we are just not prepared to do all the work for you. This site has many versions of rooms similar to yours and if you take the time to read through you will be able to work it out for yourself - THEN we may assist you.

Hi John, thanks for the reply. I've crawled through most of the relevant threads on the site and have noticed that time and time again you suggest building out symmetrical treatment options. I also have done my homework on absorption panels, and bass traps, absorption cloud designs, etc. But the layout of my room has me stumped. Truthfully I've thought of just putting up as much 2-4" fiberboard panels as I can but I don't know if that's the best option, or whether or not some diffusion would be even necessary in a room this small. I've also thought of working with the corners between the ceiling and walls, but I thought I'd try here first.
Thanks
p.s. my amateur attempt is listed below. I left the corners open since I'm not sure what to do with them.
Fair enough mate - it's tricky with all those doors.
Here's a suggestion.

wow didn't think of doing that - that's interesting. I will spec it out and will post back. Thanks!
