Well, this is my first post here, read the before you post anything message, and hope not to violate those rules..... Have to say that I already got a load of information from this site, and sincerely like to thank you all for such a great forum! Now to the real deal... Ahummm: I am building a recording studio inside an old comunity school build in 1927 in Finland. We thought of doing it well and bought a whole digidesign icon system etc. bands, vocals etc is its purpose, the mixing part will hopefully be achieved in due time, even though we are planning the room for it already, we might in later times add a room specifically for it. Because of this, no savings are being made on construction, however it has to stay reasonable of course. Problems wich cause the nightmares: 1: Concrete slab from live room to controll room. I wanted to saw it, but did not get the permitt as there would have been nothing left to build after that. the wall floats on linnatex, 2 x 2x4 studs with 5 cm spacing, filled with gypsum board on the inside and 100mm rockwool in both walls, outer walls are 2x13mm gypsum (control-room) and 2x13mm gypsum + 10mm concrete-like plating. Schould there be any additionals to a "ordinary" floating floor due to the concrete floor underneath? I am worried because the attenuation as it now already should be, is not enough to my opinion, the walls STC should have been 68.... not by far reached. 2: The live room will be (once ready) 5.5 meters high. the inner ceiling floats so to speak. But as you can see from the pictures, there is huge lumbers going from the live room to the iso booth that will situated above the control room. This worries me as I am terrified of frame born vibrations, but I cannot (and may not) cut them, as once again they are carying the outer roof, and the way it has been constructed, it cannot be altered (according to the experts here) Is there any treatment besides absorbtion foams to handle this? Any suggestions from simmilar cases? These are the two most current questions, and I am sorry for the bad pics, but my daughter got my other digicamera..... again. Any sugestions would be so appreciated, it seems nice to build, but all the trouble around it makes your mind go mad sometimes, and I am scared to make a big mistake creating a weak link. Thanks..

Fly, this got past me; can you separate your questions at the bottom of the post? Thanks... Steve
