My family and I went to look at a house with an office type space attached to the house that I am hoping to use to build a studio. We have only looked at the space once but it shows promise because it is close to the trains (people can get here) and is within my price range (barely). As this is japan, space and location from train lines are major equations in the prices of housing.
At any rate, I was wondering if any design ideas spring to mind when looking at the layout. At this point I am considering a tracking room, a control room, and if space allows a vocal booth. Is this possible in a relatively small space like this. The room is empty with the exception of the small sink type space top left corner. There is also an airconditioner unit mid right wall, but I am not sure where exactly...this layout is from the realators homepage.
We will see the realator again in a few days, but it would be great to have some ideas as to what to look at/ask him next time I see him. Any suggestions?
I would be recording mainly indie/rock type bands. I would have to do some serious sound proofing as the neighbours are close (JAPAN!) and walls are thin.
Any ideas would be appreciated.
Excited
