Here's a general layout of my room. As usual, this is my spare room that I want to be my mixing environment. I'm just looking for some help as to how I should lay it out (where my desk should go) and where I should start with some future treatment.
At the bottom I'm posting a pic of the room from overhead. The ceiling is 7ft 8in high. The bed is staying where it is, but I have two options as to where to place my desk (1 and 2). A piano will be put wherever I don't put my desk.
If I put my desk in spot 1 the walls on my right and left will be closer. If I put it in 2 then I'll have a window directly behind me. I don't know if either of those is good or bad. Haha.
My floor is pergo I believe.
Also, I have some yorkville monitors. How far away from the wall should they be? I know you don't want them right up against it, right?
Suggestions and opinions?
Advice on setting up my room.

Thats a tight room, but position 1 is where your desk should live.
Is it necessary to put a PIANO or a keyboard in there. or is the PIANO already in there. Even an upright will kill a lot of space, then you'll have the reflections off the Piano interfering with you image. Even after you install treatment (Ala Johns Portables) in the room.
Yeah, unfortunately our house is small and the piano doesn't have anywhere else to go. Maybe we can park it in the living room somewhere.
Thanks for the reply.
Or stuff it in the corner in front of the window...
The picture isn't exactly to proportion. It won't fit anywhere else. In the lower right hand there is also a corner desk.
Ahh, all those missing items. LOL. Ok I gotcha cramp space, etc.. blah blah blah.....
After your Studies here, what are you considerig for treatments????
