A bunch of questions kept coming up in my other post about my space so I decided to start a new one to adress them. If you know that you are going to build a CR that will have monitors on stands, what would the ideal wall splay be for that setup? The traditional way to splay walls is to create a RFZ for soffit mounted or inwall speakers (30 degree splay on each speaker, etc.). How does this change if you don't plan of using inwalls? Any information or thoughts on this would be much appretiated. Here is my original post if you what to see what to get a better idea of my situation. http://www.johnlsayers.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=6600
Thanks for that john. So the speakers just move out from the wall but the splay remains the same? Do you need to treat the splayed wall that is behind the speaker with absorbtion? The hanging peices of insulation... is this typically how a bass trap would be constructed in the space behind the splayed wall?
Yes - behind the front is a solid plywood wall with a port below and insulation of the front just like a normal soffit mount except it goes all the way to the top. cheers john
