(Can someone tell me what to name that link so people will actually READ it??!? Steve
o.k. thanks i`ve read this information.. but i haven`t found with the search function a building or house like mine...
here some more informations...
it`s a old farmer house (Studio is in the loft)
the two Studio produce pop and dance music...
Speakers are Dynaudio BM5A
we need some good ideas for the design of the rooms...
if someone can help and need more informations.. write me please! :D
In my case, I learned a lot by reading other peoples' projects, even though they had little (if anything) in common with mine. ;-)

i`VE FOUND THE SMALL STUDIO SKETCHUP FILE! CAN SOMEONE HELP TO DESIGN MY STUDIO WITH THIS DESIGN IN THE SKETCHUP PROGRAMM::: I`LL CAN PAY FOR IT! BUT I NEED HELP!
THX
i don't think you'll get any help in here before you add your location to your profile and stop screaming (as writing in capitals usually means) ;-)
i'm not a sketchup user, sorry i can't help...
cheers
roman
here is a picture of the location... in this room i want to built two control/programming rooms and one vocalroom in the middle of them!
Vocalroom size only 1,5m x 3,8m that`s enough
and one studio have to be bigger than the other
perhaps... 4,5 m x 3,8m (Studio A)
can`t anyone help me???
While waiting for help, perhaps you can study the many, many, many examples of projects here on the site and learn from them as much as you can. You'll then feel more confident to post an updated diagram with ideas of how you think you'd like to proceed. Expect that it will be criticized -- that's part of the process and you'll learn from it. Ultimately your plan will continue to be refined and you'll eventually have something you can consider "final."
Basically, you have to be willing to get your hands dirty and do some heavy lifting -- not physically, but mentally.
Well, physically too. ;-)
Most of the members and moderators here are busy with their own projects but are happy to help others help themselves. If you aren't helping yourself, then you can't expect much in the way of help from others.

yes i`ve found a lot of ideas, but i can`t work with the sketchup software and searching now for someone who can help me with the plan... The "Small studio" Picture i`ve found is from the size perfect! But now i need a plan for two of that with a vocalroom in my size... That`s the Problem... For the whole building costs i have 10000.- Euro...inkl. material
I know you already read the "before you post" link, but you need to also FOLLOW it; if you read it carefully you'll find a LOT of questions you haven't yet answered about your situation, please try again and take it step by step.
Your comment about Sketchup; is the software not working, or are you haveing some of the same problems I did/do? :? That is great software, but I have yet to find enough time to sort out some of its quirks.
If you can give us an idea of your background as far as building, working with tools, etc, it will help; this is one of the points in the "before you post" thread.
If you have little or no building skills or desires and intend to have this built for you, you may want to hire John to do your design for you; you'd still need to supply more detail than what's here so far, but I think you'd be very happy with the results... Steve
o.k. what`s the price to hire john to design my studio...? I haven`t built a studio till now.... no background! Just a BEGINNER:::
can i built it like this..or can i have problems with the sound?
i plan the door in this size 1 m x 2 m with a Glass inlay
for the walls i`ve planed...
180 mm rockwool
20 mm woodplate
10 mm air
and again 80 mm rockwool
can someone help me? Work this design?
Hi mate - your design is OK but everyone has their back to each other ;)
Here's an alternative layout.
cheers
john
wow great! Thanx... but the problem is i `ve to change the maindoor to the left side... because in the middle i can`t build a door... Can i make this or is ist bad for the sound?
Thanx again
John...
is it better to use 2 doors for every way (means 2 doors for one)? Is the design with near and midfiled Monitors? I use only nearfield on my desk...Is it a Problem? how much it costs if you make me a sketchup file with all size and in the right size? So i can start to build from this plan... and the right studio must be a little bit bigger and their is a window on the right site for daylight! Size 1,8 x 2 meters!
Thanks
fabian
Hi John,
here is a picture of the studioroom shows the problem with the window and doors...
you know what i mean?
perhaps we can put the vocalroom to the left side??
i`ve planed to build the wall like this plan.. is it o.k. or have i a problem with the two studio betwean???

I'd still stay with the same orientation, just allow for the doors and the window - you can use either glass doors to the vox booth or doors and window.
cheers
john
Hi John,
thanks... can you send me a picture with the sizes? so i can see if it orks with my sofa and desk...
kingfab
here you go.
If you load the pic into sketchup you can resize the pic to scale and get all the measurements. That's why I made it a .jpg as sketchup won't load .gif.
what you do is you set your units to metric, like the drawing in model info.
Then get the measuring tool and click on the end of the 9.500m dimension and drag to the other end and click on it. In the VCB window on the lower right you will see a length, could be any number, type 9.5m into the box and click enter. It will ask you if you want to resize the image, you say yup and it will resize the image to scale so all the other points can be measured in scale.
cheers
john
o.k. thanks! But what do you think if i build it so... the vocalbox is than a little bit bigger ;-)
