my friend and i are building a little studio in his garage. it is only a 1 car garage and we cant ever use all the space. it will end up being about 14x10 with an 8 ft cieling. ive learned from this site how to constuct the room (thanx). ive read many places that this room might not be big enough to have a good vocal booth and control room so we will have to record vocals and do our mixing in the same room. is there any kind of panels or somthing that i can make to have a sort of make shift vocal booth like in the corner, or is just better to just treat the whole room as one big vocal booth? thanx for any help.
If you can isolate the noise makers in the studio (such as computer etc) I'd simply treat the whole room and use it for everything. The room will be more useful that way. You can create some Gobos (portable absorbers ) just to make the room sound more live or dead depending on what you want. Tom
