I was looking for a way to seal my doors and windows and as good french that I am i was looking on French site. The only think I can't find here is a sound sealant like this one: http://www.acousticalsolutions.com/prod ... /caulk.asp If anyone from France or Europe could advice me on one brand I would be very happy, general builind stores are selling stuff for M.world but not specialised item like this one. Last but not least I found this site which propose a way to built a double window inide a recording studio, the site is quite known and says of itself as a professionnal in acoustic. No need to speak french to see some of the bugs in that drawing: http://www.rt60.net/T1_fenetre.htm - First there is a system of mass-air-mass-air-mass-air-mass for the wall. - Second the glass is double glazing on each side instead of plain glass. Am I being wrongly critisizing this site or am I correct in saying that this is completly NOT the thing to do. The only thing that this drawing tought me is the gap left inside both windows, which after rereading threads on that forum I found again. My problem is that my wall is made of hollow concrete blocks to which I have added 70 mm of gypsum on each side. all around the inside of the window frame I will put some wood to esthetically hide the concrete block, in my case is it necessary that I leave this disruption between the two windows since they are already supported by one and the same block and not two independent blocks? Thanks

Alex, you are correct when you say that they are completely wrong.......

Nope - even through you have a 2 leaf system - the 2 leafs are physically joined by the block webs - therefor you would gain nothing by seperating the window frames. Sincerely, Rod
That's what I thought ! Thanks Alex
ah sorry ! Well in the case of that website, they mean one layer of glass, on space of air or void and on layer of glass. It is not like having two plain glasses separated by some plastic film. je m'excuse ! :)
I know :) just saying what SHOULD be ;) Oh, and I see yer also having bad luck finding correct sealent in Europe. I know Auralex has the stop-gap which is expensive. I've also found some other brand, check here
ah merci !
