Hi,
First post, but I've spent hours reading the HUGE WEALTH of information here.
So, I've decided to partner with someone and pool our resources and create a new studio here in Denver CO.
We've found a nice location and I can see a great potential in the space.
Heres the problem, I just got the floorplan, and I think it looks awful. After spending time looking at many of John's designs, I can see this plan of ours lacks ANY VISION!!!
Heres what I know:
The space is 1136 sq ft
54' x 22.1' internal dimensions
Concrete floor. No ceiling, room
has open rafters to the roof and is
13.5ft high.
apart from the small bathroom walls, there is NOTHING else in the space, its just a big empty room, so we are completely free to design anything.
The layout attached is what I got as a design, its not a design is just several square rooms fit into the space!!!
There are only a few things to consider:
I record BANDS. I like as big of a tracking room as possible and record as much live as I can.
My console is a 40 input Trident mixer and its 12' in length, control room has to accomodate this.
Partner wants at least 2 offices in this space, I know he wants 3, but I'm really trying to cut it down.
Again, first post, be kind, I think I've hit all the important points, any help would be wonderful!!!!
