Hi,
My studio is right under a terrase very exposed to the sun. When it is hot the celling (10 cm of plain concrete) fells very warn. However the studio itself behing half burried remains quite cool.
I am about to add a leaf to the celling leaving between some air and insulation (rock whool). I am a bit scared of what the condensation could do to my whool at long term. What can I do ?
Thanks.
Alex
2 leaf celling + condensation

Two questions - first, what coating (if any) is on the OUTER surface of your roof/ceiling, and second - have you noticed any condensation in that area already? If so, under what conditions - (changing weather, rain, high humidity, etc)
Heat drives moisture from the warmer side to the cooler side, where it will condense if the humidity is very high - so sun heating the roof will drive moisture inward. If you have some sort of waterproof membrane over the outside of the concrete ceiling, it shouldn't allow this to happen - this is why we need more info if we're to help... Steve
The room has always been damp because it is half burried and water was leaking through the walls, but I have fixed this.
Besides I have actually put two layers of waterproof sort of paint ( a sort of liquid rubber ) on the outer side of the ceiling so I am more concerned about condensation by freezing time since the ceiling is plain concrete, condensation should automatically appear -inside- if the room is heated, right ?
It may not be of any importance, but on the outer surface of the ceiling will be put a wooden terrace, so I guess it will be slightly protected.
