Plans?

How much do studio plans usually cost from a designer? They are for a project studio that is 23'x27' and in a mother in law house outside of a main house in a neighborhood. We have a budget of $50,000 and are trying to put together a list of designers we respect but we have no idea what plans alone are going to cost and if it will have a large impact on our budget. I hope someone here can help me with this given information. Let me know if you need to know more or if it is just too hard to answer because every project is different. Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the help but how much does a designer usually cost? I have $50,000 to spend total so how much of that would be design alone? Luckily our labor will be free as one of my partners is a licensed contractor so the build can be rather nice. I have just never been able to find how much designs usually cost. The size of your room determines cost. Most design on a per/sq ft cost basis. I have seen figures from 15 to 35/ sq foot for blueprints. (this is low end)
