Hi all I 've seen it recommended before, this forum included, but am unclear on the issue and most constructions I ve been following don't bother with it. I am talking about havin the inner plasterboard ceiling of the CR angled (about 20 degrees) to form a roof-like shape. Does it really improve acoustics? Is it worth pursuing bearing in mind that some space is also lost ? QUestion is general but in my case my CR dimensions are: 7m long 5,5m wide, and 2,85m high thanks
Definitely worth it; with your ceiling height, you could slope your ceiling up from a low front to high center and back down at the rear in order to save some ceiling height; you'd then need to hang TWO clouds - one over the mix position, and one over the peak at the center. You need at least 1 in 10 slope to treat flutter; same angle with side walls, unless you use other threatments for wall-wall flutter. If your mix position faces the long way, the 3.5 meter half distance should have a height difference of at least 1/3 meter, so your ceiling height would run from 2.3 meters front and back to full height at center...
