Hi! I've got a small Homerecording studio with Adam P22a nearfields and an Adam Sub12 Studio Subwoofer. This is the actual plan:

I know that there's a little too much High/Mid absorption (dead room), this should also be improved, but this is not the main problem. The real main problem is that there is almost no bass at the listening position and there are multiple nulls / frequency dips and resonances. Would realtraps and/or well-placed Auralex LERNDS or other Auralex products help? At first, i will now move the Listening position to 38% of the room length. What do you recommend? Thanks, Volker
Aloha and welcome to the forum, volker :D

Congrats on your studio build! Any chance you could please:
Edit your profile to include your location. This is very important, because this is a worldwide resource, and as such, material costs and availability vary widely. For example, masonry is cheaper than gypsum in some parts of the globe, whereas it's the exact opposite in other regions.
You'll probably get more of a response by doing so and this will really come in handy two or three posts down the road. It's also part of the forum guidelines: http://www.johnlsayers.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=3231 Thanks! Here's a couple of places to get an idea of what's involved: SAE Website: http://www.saecollege.de/reference_material/index.html (be sure to click on the acoustics, absorbers, construction tabs at left, and tabs that appear at the top of the pages) Wall Units - http://www.johnlsayers.com/HR/index1.htm Recording Studio Design Forum Reference Area: http://johnlsayers.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=2125 More Useful Links: http://www.johnlsayers.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=1168 A couple of questions for you: Are your measurements in meters/milimeters/centimeters/other? What is the ceiling height? And finally, a few diagrams attached for reference. Looking forward to your build! Aloha 8)

Hi! Thanks for the answer! The values are in centimetres, the room height is ca. 210 cm. The foam absorbers make the room to dead and dampen (of course) really non-linear - this should be changed. What do you think about Auralex LERNDS vs. Realtraps mondotraps? Are the last ones better? and would 4 pieces of them give a hearable better result`? Volker
Aloha, To quote the direction I was given;
I've yet to use Real Traps, but have seen quite a few positive comments on the Mini's - If you're at all into DIY, though, you can beat price AND performance of just about ANY commercial unit...
That said, what I've found (and read here) is that in most cases, in order for your corner traps to make any kind of significant difference, they need to span floor to ceiling and in at least the four corners of your room. I think this is where the DIY approach wins out in being more cost effective. I used a modified approach to John's wall units and placements, and the difference it makes is quite remarkable. If you care to check out a couple of recent threads using these absorbers, try here: http://johnlsayers.com/phpBB2/viewtopic ... ght=#15598 and here: http://johnlsayers.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=4091 More later, Aloha 8)
