should I rip out my ceiling?

I'm building a studio in a detached garage that is currently 21" by 23" by 8". I will be building a room within a room to sound proof it and then be building a live room control room, and a isobooth. I want the live room to sound pretty live if possible, but its important that its souldproofed as well because its beside another house. I have a budget of 10-15k to design and build it. my main concern is the height of the ceiling. However, if I remove the ceiling, there is a 12 to 14" vaulted ceiling above up in the trusses. if i do this, I will have all the trusses exposed, and will run into more problems when I try to sound proof the ceiling and walls up where the trusses are. so this big question, is, should I leave the celing, or rip it out and try to bsoundproof, and build a vaulted ceiling up in the trusses?

Got a sketch of your roof/ceilng construction you can post? If it's what I expect, there may be no practical way to isolate your outer shell from your inner shell if you vault the ceiling, but a sketch of what's there (or a pic or two) would sure help... Steve

I can draw one up, but I haven't moved in to the place yet so all i've been able to do was cut open a small section of the ceiling and look around up in the trusses. I'll post it soon. thanks

Ok so I have another crazy idea. This Idea may suck, so please feel free to let me know and call me an idiot. Create an outer envelope around the building with cinder blocks!! Just as high as the bottom of the lowest part of the roof though. then I would have to figure out a way to seal in up to the peak of the roof on 2 of the sides. So what about the roof? I would build the roof just like a floating floor. 2by6s on there side fasend to the original roof, filled with insulation, and covered by plywood. then re roof it.. It needs a new roof anyways, and my dads a roofer. so what do you think? stupid or smart? if I could make it work, then i would safe some space inside the studio. I would need a space for an outer door, and ventelation.
