I've just designed a studio that I think would be worth while. To confirm my suspicions I need to work out the RT60's for each room.
The only problem is, my rooms are completely abnormally shaped! How would I go about working out the area for the floor and the then the total volume of the room?
I could break each room up into 4 sided figures. What's the equation for the area and volume of these types of oddly shaped figures?
Anyone?
Thanks a lot for the fast answer last time! :D
Working out volume and area

Rather vague, question. Where dis you get 4 sided figures from? Are the rooms varius combinations of rectangles? Then yes, 4 sided figures. IF not then the usual surveying method is is use 3 sided (triangular) analysis.

The problem with writing volume formulas for irregularly shaped rooms is the fact that there's an infinite variety of infinitely shaped rooms.
Yes, trianglular prism analysis will work. If the angles involved aren't horribly steep I woulkd probably just use rectangular estimation.
