Slightly off-topic, but I thought this might be of interest for some of you: Google announced that there will be two editions of Sketchup now. SketchupPro for professional use and Google SketchUp (free) for personal use. http://sketchup.google.com/ I've got to check the differences between the editions yet, but this looks like nice stuff... 8)
nice one!! hopp schwiiz ;-) cheers roman
Many of us figured this would happen. Looks like the differences will not impact most of us here. Awesome. 8)

SketchUp Pro is approved for commercial use and the Free version is licensed for personal use only. You need SketchUp Pro if you want to:
Print and export raster images at higher-than-screen resolution. Access to the following 3D export formats: DWG, DXF, 3DS, OBJ, XSI, VRML and FBX. Export animations and walkthroughs as MOV (Mac) or AVI (Windows) files. Use the Sandbox Tools (for organic modeling of terrain, etc) and the Film & Stage Tools (for pre-viz work). Have access to free email tech support for two years from purchase.
Thanks for the heads up. I was just days away from deciding that I would be forced to pony up the $500 for the full blown version. I am now saved from the touchy conversation with my wife to validate the cost.
