Hello. I am using a spare bedroom to record and mix in. I record loud guitars, vocals and bass in this room. Drums are done elsewhere. Recording is a hobby for me (write-play-record my own stuff). I'm currently not looking to do any reconstruction to the room. I know this may be a problem with the room dimensions. Right now, there is no treatment in the room. Floors are carpeted - walls are sheetrock. It's an upstairs bedroom. Ceilings are 8 feet tall. Recording desk is 4 feet wide. Where would be the best location to place my desk/monitors with the room dimensions as they are now? I have about $200 for treating the room acoustically - where would this best be applied? Thank you. Andy

Andy - $200 isn't going to get you much treatment. I'd setup the desk facing the top 11' wall with the speakers aimed down the room to the long wall. I'd get as much quality insulation as I could for $200 and line the bottom long wall with it. cheers john
