As you can see i want to use 1 control room if possible because i won't have a lot of live recordings since my market is more so for rappers and r&b crooners. the length of my space is 56'7" and about 13 or 14' wide i can expand if necessary i really need help u the forum helped with the small commercial and home studio i had.

When you say equipment do you mean speakers, mics, consoles etc ?
I don't think this forum isn't for such things but if it is i'll give you my concept...
yeah i just need an idea on what to get for the studio being that i want to run one control room if possible and i need where i spend either 10 grand or 20 if i can raise the other 10.
I will give you some info at "The Wombat Hole" because that's the only
place i found questions like yours. As i said this forum isn't for such things.
But i would like to know if you have any gear and what excactly do you
want to do.......So see you at "The Wombat Hole".
Aloha and welcome to the forum, dacalm01
If you could provide more specific information on your project, it would be helpful. http://www.johnlsayers.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=3231 A drawing/floorplan/pics would be very helpful. Be sure to include accurate length x height x width measurements, and how much isolation you need.I have a design idea for my studio or should i say my boss' studio I have the go ahead to do what i want. Before going further, I would suggest considering that a roomful of cool equipment does not necessarily make it a "studio." The design and acoustics of the room are just as (if not more) important as the equipment that goes into it. By the way, was the 10k/20k you mentioned the budget for the entire project or just the studio build? :D  A very broad overview of possible equipment needed: - recorder - (format? DAW, hard disk, tape?) - monitors - (near/mid field? - passive/active? sub/s? headphones?) - control surface - (mixer/mouse?) - mics - (large & small diaphram condensors, dynamic) - mic pre's - - cables - very important, but usually "not figured in budget" (recorder, monitors, mic) - processing - (plug ins, outboard?) - mixdown - (format? CD-R, DVD-R, DAT, tape?) Try doing some research on what other studios are doing/using. Here's a good place to start: http://www.recordproduction.com/welcome ... tudio_.htm Hope this helps, Aloha 8)I would even like some though on what type of equipment i would need to use i am looking for a mid level and a high level studio.
thanks for the info i'm doing this for my boss he claims the studio will be mines but of course we know other wise.He is looking to spend 10 or 20 for all to me its not possible for what he wants to do I told him we can go with the DAW setup it will be the cheapest way to go. I'll check the other websites to check out whats being put in studios that have a real good budget thanks......
