Hi All,
I've recently moved to a new premises and have been looking to properly treat my production room there. I'm really only looking at surface treatment, as anything more will likely eat up too much space in the room.
I've got a load of Mini and Mondo traps, courtesy of Ethan Winers' http://www.realtraps.com, and am currently using some of them on the side/ceiling corners and a the front and back of the room. The trouble is, with a sloping front and back, traps in these corners would use up too much space.
I'm happy with the bass response I'm getting at the moment, and the Minitraps on the sides also seem to be doing a good job at dealing with the early reflections. So its only really the late reflections that I have left to handle, and having worked in far too many overdead small control rooms, I'm looking to avoid the problem. The trouble is, there dont seem to be any affordable (for me at least!) diffusors panels on the market, so I might have to look at a DIY solution. As the furniture at the front of the room will need to be built, there is a fair amount of carpentry to be done so I'm hoping I could get this done at the same time. I'm currently thinking of adding clouds to the ceiling (thanks to this forum, love the concept!) and diffusion to the rear (sloping) wall.
Any comments regarding the use of diffusion on the sloping back wall would be appreciated, as would any suggestions for DIY diffusors. The trouble is A) it has to take up as little space as possible, B) the sloping wall is plasterboard only and I'll have to be very careful how much weight it can take.
I've included a jpg and a link to the sketchup.
