Plywood vs Drywall

New to this forum, but is really looks great. I am working on a control room and vocal booth in a warehouse. Would a double layer of plywood make a better sound barrier than 2 layers of drywall? Should you use a product like sheetblock in between the layers? Thanks again, Rick

...of the same thickness then probably not, but consider that you could get 3 layers of drywall for the price of a single sheet of plywood, (well at least here in the UK) and 3 layers of drywall should be adequate on your inner walls. Sheetblock won't add any more isolation than another layer of drywall, and costs a lot more, so 'do the math' as they say.
