I have a slot resonator question that may be dumb but maybe someone can answer it for me. Is there any reason that the slat could not have a rounded front face or a broken up surface (ie like a RPG diffuser?) I have not seen any designed this way and was curious as to why. It seams that this would assist even more in diffusion on top of trapping.

Good question. Fortunately there is a good and easy answer :D There is no acoustic reason why you can not texture the face of a slot absorber.
