Hey:
I'm new to this forum, a friend that studies in Fullsaill recommend me this site and I can see why, it's wonderfull. I am currently recording vocals in a 12x12 storage room in my home. The room was originally constructed to stored stuff like books and hardware tools, but I saw the room had potential so I have tried to get the more space posible of it.
I'm using two matresses to get some acoustic in the voice production and I try to sealed the wondows with those little egg shape matresses that comes to put over the bed.
Another problem I have along with the books etc., is that the roof gets humid (like wet) and the paint come off (I'm thinking maybe pool paint may resolve the problem.
Anyway I would aprecciate help in turning the storage room into a vocal recording studios (and music pre-production). As I said is a 12x12 room made of concrete. If I can get space for my drumkit and some of the stuff it'll be better but if not it's ok. Maybe I can convince my parents to do another room for the stuff.
Sorry for my english, I'm form Puerto Rico
Big help for a small 12x12 room

Romo, sorry this got missed; first, if your room is really that wet you're gonna have problems with your gear; connections, rust, etc - if possible, you should get a dehumidifier in there that runs constantly. Pool paint won't take away the moisture.
Second, there are basic things to do to improve the acoustics of a room - a lot of them can be found here

A lot more can be found by reading through posts in the Acoustics forum. Your room will need more treatment than most, because it's square.
If you need sound isolation (keeping the drum sound from leaving the room) this will take a LOT more effort and cost... Steve
