I've been building my studio for 6 years now this month. I've recently kicked construction into high gear because I want to get done and get on with my life, I'm a musician not a construction worker! :) I took last week off work to build and I had hoped I would finish the major construction by the time I went back to work, but it didn't happen. I did get a ton done though, and in my standard fashion I have lots of pictures of the process. I posted over at homerecording.com http://homerecording.com/bbs/showthread.php?t=192327 some pictures of the latest in the construction. Check it out. Post any replies there or here, whatever works.
Once I'm done with the studio I'll be organizing all the pictures we've taken over the years and organizing them. I'll post all the high points at that time. I feel my experience can be helpful to people who are considering building a studio, or someone who's in the process of building one. My story is also a cautionary tale. :)

I've just updated my thread at the homerecording forums with more pictures at the above link. Enjoy. :)
Hey Sonic
Just looked at the pics. I like that door you installed. It's evident you "thought ahead" by creating it like you did.
WOW, the space you've got! Your live room will be a large area, especially for a basement. I am curious though...How will you view into the vocal booth area or is this not a concern?
Keep the pics coming!
There's a 3 X 3 (or so) window looking into the vocal booth. We have yet to do the ceiling in there. Once we work on that I'll post pics.
Which door were you referring to by the way? The big swinging wall, or the actual man door?
Yeah it's a lot of space for a home recording studio. I think the biggest reason it's taken me so long to finish up is because it IS so big. The ceiling is a little low for my tastes, but what can you do?
