Guys,
I have made some timber framed, cloth covered 2" 703 panels for the ceiling in my live room.
I am already really short on head room in this room and would prefer to attach these panels directly onto the sheetrock with angle brackets rather than hang them down a few inches with hooks and fishing wire.
Will there be a great deal less performance doing it this way?
Thanks

Can ceiling panels be attached directly to the ceiling?

Thanks Rod,
What I am trying to do is get rid of some nasty "slap echo" or "Ring" that the room has with it's untreated plasterboard ceiling and chipboard floor (FYI the ceiling height is 2.4m)
The walls are non parallel already, 703 treated and I want to keep a wooden floor so my plan is to attach panels directly to the ceiling every few feet to tame the rooms "ring" but create the ilusion that the dark ceiling above them is higher than it is.
Sound like a plan?
