Hi, great piece of work.
Did you calculate the problem frequencies or did you just "go for it"?
I am in a similar situation and about to build up a bigger studio in Hamburg , Germany.
I wouls also like to know what kind of material the wall clothing is.
cheers mate!

Eleo
Hi!!
The room looked pretty descent "modewise", no particular clusters or gaps. I just went for straight ahead bass-trapping as you can see in the pics. The insulation is "Paroc", the same as rockwool I think. Standard building insulation. The depth in the front wall is around 30 cm in the thinnest region. That would make the low-freq absortion pretty descent don't you think??
Well, I shouldn't say to much before I've fired up my Genelecs... Hopefully it sounds great!! In that case I must thank John and all the others on this forum for all the great tips and tricks!! This is the greatest site when it comes to studio-building!!!
Cheers,
Ola
Man, great.
Just wondering, what kind of tissue did you use (i guess all the red stuff is material, not gyps.)just some regular good looking material?
Hope I am not getting to personal, but how much €uros did the the overall studio building cost you?
Eleo
Hi!
Well, in some places it's concrete. The angeled walls are double-layered plasterboard (13mm) and the purpose is just to get a RFZ. Behind them hangers for low-freq absortion.
Cheers,
Ola
thx.
sorry for bothering,
what did you user for the ceiling?plasterboard too?
;)
eleo
I forgot,
When it comes to costs, I don't think I've spent more than 4k euros on the build.
Cheers,
Ola
Hi,
The ceiling is 50mm standard class A absorbers. "False ceiling" as they say. Really good when you want to use a space for bass-trapping!! On top, hangers as you can see in the pics.
Would be nice to see some pics of your location??
Cheers,
Ola
Of course, I will make some pix tomorrow :)
Ok, thanks for your help so far-
will ry to find out where i can buy these class a absorbers.
by the way, heres a pic of the old studio:

Hi!
Looks good!
Got the NS-10's aswell!! Awesome when it comes to checking mixes!! Worked with some guys down in Frankfurt, Booming system, do you know them??
Cheers,
Ola
right, for comparing I love the Ns 10s.
Will upgrade my adam P11a to the s3a next week 8)
No, unfortunately I do not know the boomtown system crew.
What kind of music are you producing?
by the way, I have a little difficulties in translating the "construction-pro words" ;)
did you just cover the ceiling Absorbers with some extra material (like satin) or did you leave the absorbers the way they are?
eleo
Hi!
The ceiling is called "Ecophon" and comes in different colours. You can check it out at www.ecophon.com.
Just bought myself the Genelec 8050's :D . Sold my old S30's  . I really loved them but needed the cash and a more "modern" sounding speaker. And if neccesary, I can upgrade them with a subwoofer 8) .
The music I write/produce is everything from rock/pop to r&b/dance and everything in between. Gotta have an open mind if you wish to make a living out of this!!
Cheers,
Ola
yeah, thnax, thats what I ment.
well Ill be starting building my studio tomorrow.
cheers!
Your place is getting shape fast and looks beautifull!
May I ask you something?
Why did you use glasswool (isover if I see right) on the hangers and rockwool for insulating frames?
And why didn't you put any insulation on the rear of the bass traps, but just in front??
Sorry to bother, just trying to understand and collect Ideas :D
Alberto
you guys blow me away :)
here you are from Sweden, Italy and Germany having a conversation in English - great work guys!
cheers
john
Hi there guys!!
Thanks belairstudio and John!!

No particular reason. Don't think it matters if you use one or the other. belairstudio wrote:Why did you use glasswool (isover if I see right) on the hangers and rockwool for insulating frames?
It is insulation in the back and hangers as you can see in the pics. The whole middle-section is filled with insulation, about 30cm in the thinnest part. Cheers, OlaAnd why didn't you put any insulation on the rear of the bass traps, but just in front??
Hi!
Pics of the finished front and left-rear bass-trap!
Cheers,
Ola
Aloha from Hawaii, Ola
Hey, congrats! Your place is looking great! I'm curious as to how's it sounding?
Aloha 8)
Yeah me too....did you try at least singing in it?
:D
How does it feel?
Thanks Kendale!
Well, I'm not finished with the rear wall yet... But the room sounds controlled and obviously quite dampened now. Since I'm planning on recording both vocals and acoustic/electric guitar in there that's a good thing for me! The purpose of the room is to be a control/ programming/songwriting room. And to serve as a mix room that can take the mixes "All the way". Haven't listened to my monitors in it yet so I'm a bit excited!!
Hopefully it's gonna work out!
Some pics of the console and bass-trap!!
Cheers,
Ola
