First, I posted a similar topic about a year ago when we first purchased the land, but things were delayed due some issues with a well on an adjacent lot. But that's taken care of and we're ready to do this.
We are set to break ground in April for our new house. One of the considerations for the build was to be able to include the studio design. It will span between a bedroom and adjacent garage. I will attempt to describe with breavity but clearity what is going on.
There are four spaces, labeled, Control room, Iso A, Iso B, and my office. There is also a machine room where all the noisy equip will go.
Starting with the control room, it will have a floated foor for routing cables.
There are corner absorders in the front corners(as described in Wall Units).
Wall units will be built for the fron, rear and sides mounted @the ceiling wall junction down 2', about 7' A.F.F. Also @the front wall units will be built from the floor up about 3'. Ceiling acoustc panels will be suspended as outlined in the plans and there will be a custom 2-dimensional diffuser.
Iso A will be a some what live room with a combination of slot resonators, asorbsion wall units and stone veneer. (See plans for material locations). The floor will be wood and ceiling acoustics will be suspended as noted. The actual ceiling will be a concave wood 2x2 grid design. For sight line the double doors will have full pane glass.
Musical styles: will be doing more live instrument recording due to increased space. That's what's up. Primary genre Urban Gospel(Hip-Hop, R&B, Neo Soul, Rap, etc.).
House is being built on an acre lot, plenty of space between neighbors.
Iso B will be more dark with a combination of absorbtion and bass traps. The floor will be wood.
Now some questions:
1. In iso A, which is where a garage would be, it will be a room inside a room should the floor be floated or directly on the slab?
2. Flaws you see?
I'm sure others will come...
Respect for all help in advance

Hope the plans come out right...

Between control room and Iso A, should we double the double the door to create a air pocket to decrease sound transmission?
Another question, trying to find a source for rockwool.
I'm not quite sure of cost effectiveness, but here is a rock wool source on ebay:

Got a couple loads for myself recently...

You should rethink the angles of the sidewalls in the controlroom. Early reflections will mess up the stereofield. "Invert" the sidewalls, if you see what I mean??

Aloha,
Regarding your control room walls., this might help visualize things a bit.

Thinks for the link on the rockwool. And I'll look at those angles...
