hey guys, I LOVE this fourm and am happy to be a member of such a great online community!
I am in the process of trying to get a SBA loan to open a commercial place. if I can obtain this, I will have about 14 to 1600 sq ft to work with.
I have a general idea of what I want my studio to look like.... but it is general and not deatailed.
I picture walking down a hall way and seeing a door on the left.
when you open that door, you are standing at the back wall of the controll room... there is a coutch along that wall.
Right in front of you is a door leading to the live room.
To your right, is a producers work station / listening island/bar, whatever you call it....
in front of that is the console
If you are sitting in the engeenier's seat, looking to your left through a really big glass window that goes all the way down to the floor, you see the live room.
looking forward in the engeeniers seat, he sees a window leading into a vocal / isolation booth.
directly to the right, against the wall is a closet area with a sliding glass door, in this closet, is the computer and firewire drives and other things.
I know that I do NOT want to soffit my monitors... I have KRK Rockit 8's
I also know that I need a small office space and a small lounge room with a bathroom.
anyone have any ideas? I am not sure how to scetch this is sketch up or anything or how to figure what all I will need to construct it.
even if i do not get the SBA loan, I want to make this happen....maybe have to make the size smaller then 1400 sq ft.....but that is the idea so far. the 1600 would give extra space for the bathroom and lounge area....
anyway....
suggestions?
thanks in advance!
Steve

Steve, without a really large budget you're gonna need to make the effort to learn how to draw your own space; there are tons of drawings already here on different people's threads, so something should get close to what you envision - have a look around, then give it a shot... Steve
