Hi there!
Great forum!! :D
I´m about to build a control/tracking room for a project studio.
Do you get the same effect of "hangers" if you put them inside a slot resonator?? (I would imagine that the bass-frequences just pass right through and "move" the hangers)??
Right??
Cheers,
Ola
Hangers behind slat resonators??

No; if you want to have an idea of what you'll end up with, you need to either build a slat resonator OR a bass trap. The formula for helmholtz takes into account the flow resistivity of the material (typically 3 PCF rigid fiberglass insulation), the cloth, the depth inside, width and spacing of slats, thickness of slats, etc - changing the inner fill will change both frequency (slightly) and absorption, as well as the "Q" of the trap.
Mixing the two will mainly make sure you have NO IDEA what you did... Steve
Excellent question and right straight answer. I was wondering the same since the drawing I saw ta SAE looks like a hanger inside the corner slat resonator. Now I understand.
Thanks.
