Hi, I wonder what is the best soundproof solution between the two following floating floor design (see the picture). Any idea? Note: The setup will be for an electronic drum. I must get rid of the vibration produced by the hard pad "hi hat", pedal and bass pedal. Thanks!

I am currently planning/building my own floating floor. Great diagrams - My first impressions - Design #1 would provide a slightly larger air cushion/spring and may provide better sound isolation (but it might be just slight), but #1 would make for a more solid floor, especially if you were planning on building any walls on this floor (which you didn't mention so I'm not sure). There are probably some here with more experience who could add to this.... I wonder if others were building design #1 - would you just go ahead and fill it completely with the rockwool? I'm always concerned with these things sounding hollow... ~ Jason
Design #1, only fill completely. #2 is a 3-leaf design, and may even AMPLIFY the sounds you're trying to isolate... Steve
