Hello, Even though it hasnt been long at all since ive had my studio id like to re-design where I have stuff placed. One problem is that my back is always turned. Which makes it hard when im trying to see what someone is doing, talking to them or w/e when i need to do something on my computer. I just think the room could be much more efficient. I also dont know if my monitoring position is the best. Ill post up a current overhead view of the studio along with a layered photoshop file so you can click and drag the items to where you think they would be best and resend it. One thing is that I have all my in wall wiring in the corner, so to avoid having to buy a ton more cables and such id like to keep my station on or near the north, east or south wall where the adjacent room is. http://www.blackhatrecording.com/studio.psd http://www.blackhatrecording.com/studio.jpg Thanks! Not like it's a long-term solution or anything, but a strategically placed mirror, perhaps even a half-dome one like this, would help a bit...
I had the same problem in a one-room studio I had. Cured it with a $59 security cam and a B/W 5" monitor package.
Those are possible routes, however it could be spendy and kind of hard to use. I was thinking about putting my desk against the way right side of the north wall with my studio monitors facing the stairs. If have a better view by looking left rather than behind me all around. Its a nice little nook and leaves the rest of the space very open. Any idears? Thanks, Fill
