okay so what i have is a 20x20 garage that me and my band practices in and we want to convert some it into a kind of recording studio/practice room. we are under a very tight budget, maybe liek 1000 dollars for the actual studio itself. what we had in mind was maybe some acoustic curtains hanging from the wall which would act as a drum booth/vocal booth/horn booth (1). we need something that can be taken apart and put away easily for practice space. our other idea was making wall partitions with wheels so they can be easily moved. we would basicallty just insolate the walls and try to get the corner of the room we want isolated.
a dead box (2; just a wooden cabinet with something for density..any suggestions? and some acoustic foam) would be used for the guitar amps and the bass would be plugged straight into our interface.
and the L at the bottom left would be our control room...speakers, interfaces, preamps, computer, monitors ect... of course we would hear whats being played in (1) but were planning on using headphones and then convert to monitors post recording...
if anyone has any suggestions on isolating the drums or maybe even a little isolation for the control room thats not too high in price please comment! we can probably go a little over budget...but not too much!

We'll need a lot more information that you've provided so far... The above link and the threads linked from it will answer many of your questions and surely prompt a few new ones.
You weren't very specific about how much isolation you're going to need, but I'm betting that your budget is too low and your requirements for portability are too high to be realistic...
Good luck. We look forward to seeing more details so that we can comment with more specifics.
