Hi again! I just downloaded SketchUp last night and I was able to draw something similar to what I was thinking for my new studio. It's kind of a pathetic effort, I know, but I'm no architect or designer so please be understanding... :? The idea is to have a big main room and a small one, along with a rehearsal room that's also connected to the control room, so you can use it as an amp booth or whatever. There will be a relaxing room upstairs as well, if I can figure out how to make it work. My knowledge of acoustics is pretty basic, so I would really aprecciate any suggestion. Also, I realised that the view from the control room might not be the greatest (I'll just be able to see a small portion of the big room). Any ideas of how can that be avoided? Thanks in advance to you all!! Jordi.

SketchUp File, just in case... Jordi.
Great layout :) Thats pretty choice IMO. I would change the iso and live room so the walls arent parrallel and depending on what you need or prefer, at listening position the viewing angle in the live room is pretty small, i dont know how i would approach that but id take it into consideration. I didn't specify which room was what, so here it is. The measures are 15 x 7,5 m and 6 m tall. It's still true that my angle from the control room is very narrow... J.

Aloha Jordi, Nice drawings. Any chance you could either resize them or cut off the excess white areas? Makes it alot easier to follow without having to scroll back and forth. (It's also part of the forum guidelines for posting pics. ) Aloha 8)
The shapes are nice, but it looks like you will have to go through the iso booth to get to the big room. If that is so it may be trouble for people to get drum kits through, or if you have people coming over at different times during recording sessions, you will not be able to have them set up while you are recording others. Just a thought. Tom
