Hi everybody! I'm about to buy a place for my new studio. It's about 15 x 7,5 m (49 x 24,5 feet), with 2 big doors on one of the small sides and no divisions whatsoever. The ceiling is pretty high, about 6 m (19.5 feet). That gives me the oportunity of building a second floor in some parts, but I'd like to have a nice tall main room. I also want to build a rehearsal room with separate access, like this: --------------------- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - ---------- - - - - - - - - - --- ------ --- (It doesn't quite work, I'm afraid.....) Obviously I'll need a bathroom and some place for people to relax and play some games and smoke a cigarrette (or whatever they feel like smoking...). I'd like to have a big main room and a second small one (and maybe a tiny one for amps, but that's not mandatory since I preffer bigger rooms than many rooms). The control room should have access to both recording spaces. Am I dreaming?? Am I crazy?? Am I demanding too much?? What do you guys think? Any ideas? Any websites where I can get some floor plans or something? Thanks so much!! Jordi.
Sounds great! Lots.. i mean lots of time in planing and construction along with $$$, but for what you plan on doing it should come out great! How much are you looking to spend? That will give us an idea on what your looking at with your demands. IF you can, throw up some pics, there we can work on layouts and stuff! Fill
I can spend 20000-25000 €. My idea is to have a great design to begin with, and then concentrate on the control room and the main room first. Later on I could go on with the rest. I was thinking that I could use the rehearsal room as the small room, instead of building a separate one. I'll try to get my friend to draw a plan so I can show you. Thanks! Jordi.
