hey ladies/gents this is my first post here on the forum. I wanted to start out and so thanks so much for allowing me and others to learn from you guys who have "been there done that" so we don't have to.
I am the early stages of developing a budget for a better than average home studio here in Johnson City, TN which is in the upper northest corner of the state (those in nashville might be familiar), I am going to build my studio in my basement or maybe a separate building. I am still looking for the right property. my plan is to have a nice control room, live room (big room) and booth for acoustics, vocals, loud amps etc.. I will have a protools HD rig with some nice outboard gear and mics and my console will be centerpoint, a sony/mci or by then maybe something else. hopefully that will give you some insight into my gear.
my first question is..I just have no idea how much materials will cost for the above mentioned rooms, I want to be very isolated and well built. I know this is avery open ended question, but any ballparks? so with rough estimates of measurements lets say the live room were 25' x 35' x 8 control room is 20' x 15' x 8' and booth is 6' x 6' x 7'
please ask as many questions as possible. I don't at this point even have a design, I am looking for designs currently. any designs would be greatly appreciated. thanks again
