First of all, studs are vertical and do not connect to each other, so I have no idea what you mean by "joining stud to stud." :? Second of all, why did you choose johnsayers11 as your username? We already have a John Sayers here and we rather like him...

1. joining stud to joist 2. i thought that i was just a fan of him. so i made my id into his name if i annoyed u. forgive me plz I will change my id or have another id newly
My walls were built using grabber screws to join studs to the joists and floor sill. Seems like most carpenters framing a house would use nails. I don't have a framing nail gun so I use screws. Besides, swinging a hammer all day long is hard on my joints.

Well, it's not my decision. If "the real John Sayers" doesn't have a problem with it, then I don't. That being said, looking at the memberlist, seeing that "John Sayers Fan" is available as a username, perhaps that would be a better and less confusing choice. --Keith
