I am trying to help my friend figure out how to create good acoustics in his apartment without making any permanent modifications to the structure. He will only be there for a year so we'd like to build units that we'll be able to take out and use else where when he leaves. I guess I could just build some panel absorbers to stand in front of the walls but the floor and ceiling are a problem I don't know how to address. Right now Im thinking there's not much we can do other then treat the room to sound good and forget about isolation. Building a stand alone iso booth for tracking is an option but it would have to be something we could take apart which seems hard to DIY. Any ideas? I will post back with the dimensions of the space soon... sorry I don't have them already.
Mobile isolation for a temporary space

See this thread for a similar situation with an unhappy ending.
Yeah I figured I wouldn't be able to pull off anything worth while. Still it would be nice to do something... I saw a design John had for a drum baffle for Sjoko's Studio that he did. It was somewhere here:

I was thinking if I built something like that, we could move it around for different things. For instance we could put it behind our mix position when mixing or move it somewhere else when tracking. It will help when I get those measurements.
While Im on the subject here, what could use for a curtain over the window that would absorb well?
