in red is the shape i would like to build my control room in. It is definately elongated and i would like to know if it is feasible to have a stretched out room (giving more of a coffin shape). Also I would like to build a small vocal booth if it will not screw with the sound by having an extra door where i have illustrated. Any ideas or advice would be apprciated. Cheers. EDIT: sorry the image was broken, now sorted.
furthermore, i am able to build a sloping ceiling, the max height of the ceiling is 2.55m. i should explain that i've been planning on building wooden studed walls, 3 layers of plasterboard on the inside and same for the outside with acoustic insulation in between the walls as per the Auralex Acoustics 101 guides. My main concern is that I will not be able to have a couch in the back should I build a room with proportions akin to proper control rooms. I would like to build a much longer room to acommodate for this. if one of the angled walls was hinged and was actually a door, would the different surface in the corner cause weird acoustic problems? i can think of a million more questions, but the room shape is the main one im concerned about as I would love to fit the couch, but i dont want to sacrifice sonic quality too much. here's a photo of the space after we knocked down existing partitions and the framework you see on the ground is what would make a more ideal shaped room, but i would like to extend it by another 1.5 metres in depth.
