Hello all... long time reader first time poster...
first of all i want to thank everybody on this forum: it has been such a great help designing my own place here in Cologne.
Time to ask for advice: I'm working on a project for a temporary music academy in Seattle later this year, where we want to built a 2 control room/1 live room setup.
The budget is going to be very limited since it is not even certain whether the space will be used as a studio after the acedemy.
I guess we're looking at staggered studs/double layer sheetrock walls, control room windows, but no floated floors/ceilings, soffits, havac or anything like that.
I attached a floorplan of the space, plus the ruff idea the guys in Seattle came up with. the space in the upper left corner will be used as a little edit suite for the webstreams, no acoustic treatment needed here. What I'm looking for is a simple design with "decent" acoustics (not expecting too much here with the given budget). It would be nice if the rooms could be accessed without having to go through the live room or the other cr..
Thanks in advance

Hi mate,
Welcome to the forum!! I'm quite new here also (lurker actually), and happen to have the same query regarding two control rooms and either one BIG iso recording booth, or two smaller ones.
Do check out my thread here
I have not got any response yet, so not sure if our queries could be found as a FAQ or a double control and iso booth is not common these days?..
maybe something like this layout??
cheers
john
Wow, thanks for the quick reply John!!
I really like this layout.
At least one of the control rooms should be a little bigger, there will be situations where we have to fit a lot of people in there.
Maybe make the bottom one flush with the staircase on the right?!
The radio studio could still go in that space in the upper left corner, and we won't need a seperate iso booth, gobos will do.
I'll talk to the guys in Seattle and see what they think.
Thanks so far, we will definitely donate :D
