Hi all,
I am really stumped on this, even our construction manager at work can't seem to get his head around it.
Please find following a scale plan of my control room done in windows "paint".
I know the lengths of three walls (top bottom and left)
I am trying to work out the measurements in mm that I need to build two new walls at top and bottom (shown in red) to make the two side walls as symetrical as I can.
Each new wall will start flush in its respective corner but its the measurement in mm on the oppersite wall where these new walls intersect that I just can't seem to work out to basically "square" up the room.
Any one got a drawing program out there that they could plug these figures into and work out what I need to do.
Thanks again
JG
Any one good with angles!!

Hello, i hope i understand:
Either you want it to have 2 parallel walls, then you can make an extra wall with 5000 parallel to the left wall starting at 2700 of the lower wall, so you have two 90deg triangles,
or you simply pick an angle like 6 deg and measures the distance, to make sure that your walls are really straight.

Hi Harald,
thanks for that, so you are saying if I make the two new walls top and bottom 6deg (top drawing) then it will make the room symetrical? But what is this measurement in mm? Is it 200mm like the bottom drawing or something else?
It's more the measurement in mm that I am interested in as this is what the builder will work with.
Thanks

very quickly done but I hope this helps
Perfect Andrew except I can't read the measurements!!, so close yet.....
I sent you a PM, can you foward the file to my email so I can zoom in and read the maesurements.
Thanks

That file would be readable if all the extra whiteness were trimmed and the entire image enlarged... To no wider than 700 pixels, of course. :-)
John - try this.
cheers
john
Thanks Guys
