Hi guys, i'm so glad I stumbled upon this forum which u've been discussing very important stuffs to note on when building a studio... i am a student from SAE Singapore and i have an acoustic project onhand... I am doing this project alone and i have NO IDEA at all how to get started... what should i plan for first?? what is my first step in approaching this project... we are sarpose to convert a room into a Audio Post Production suite with an overdubbing booth... room size is 8 x 6 x 3 m.... so right now, muz i start off by designing a blueprint of the room first or get more details on the materials to use before i draw a blueprint?? i am very confused and loss as this is my first tym attempting this kinda project... though lesson in sch taught us about materials and equipments, but the design of the studio is all up to us... i have browsed through my sch's material reference webpage and it is comfusing mi even more on which is the first thing to do when building a studio?? kindly give mi more suggestions on how to go about this project... meanwhile, i'm sourcing around the internet for more infomation on materials used in studios... thankx a million, guys !! cheerios, jur
hi pals, i've read thru the "dont think about posting before you read this" topic... i understand that usually post like mine would be ignored or no replies... but i'm really desperate for help with how to start this project... i read so many topics and realised that most of u all already have an idea in mind or even a sketch... so, am i sarpose to draw a rough plan first?? or am i asking the obvious?? i'm really totally lost... initially i was so excited about this project and i wanted so much to do it well, all by myself... i might have over-estimated my abilities... and now i feel like emo wreck, crying for sleepless nyt and no matter how much detail i can catch online or forums, it only makes mi more confused and lost, ending up pleading here for help... i am facing another big prob is that i cant find anyone to draw a blueprint for mi as i've been sourcing around for almost three weeks... without a person to draw a sketch, and even if i do, i am completely lost at what design i need for this project... i sincerely wish that some kind soul wil reply to this, be it harsh on mi for not knowing what i wanna do or how i should start off... guys, i'm running out of tym and i've been reading alot in ur posts and threads... just gif mi an idea on the steps i should approach for this project... please... and i will do accordingly on my own... please advise... thank you very much in advance...
Is this going to be an actual space or is this just a ficticious space you have to design for homework? If this is a REAL space could you post a drawing of the space with all the dimensions, window and door placements, electrical breaker box (fuse box), water lines/pipes, Hvac ducting, beams and support posts please. Having this will get you quiker help in the design process. But if this is just a ficticious space I have made you a quik layout but I will have to post it after I get home from work.
This is a very cool and portable home studio. My hats off to you. Really creative.

ooh thank Q very much !! i have the above three and i've juz read the last one which is perfectly the one I'd be looking for... appreciate that very much... i'm so sorry to trouble u guys for the links... i am now starting to draw my own blueprint (instead of trying to rely on someone to do it for mi) and i should be done by today... since i have sourced around for the materials i want, i might post it up here after my blueprint for some advice on which are unsuitable for my design and budget... i will be giving u guys the full details tomorrow ya !! since i'm working on the layout now... my classmates adviced mi to do a rough blueprint first, choose my materials and calculate my RT60 before i do an actual blueprint... thank you once again for the links... cya tml here !!
